Cold Feet

I am beginning to get cold feet about an upcoming engagement. The first speaking engagement for me alone (without my man). Nervous is beginning to be an understatement.

I need lots of prayer please...

Marcie if you are reading this... stop laughing.

If you would like to be specific in your prayer...you can intercede for good memorization. I would like to work without notes. My sessions are short so this is not a crazy stretch.

I am a little embarrassed to be talking about the coolness of my feet. Be easy with me. I do know that God is in control. I just don't want to mess anything up with my words.

I am also flying solo! This will be a first.

You go girl! My hubby memorizes all his sermons. He practices in the shower, in the back room, and then on a car ride by himself the night before. I know you will do great!

Hi! I found your blog through the LPM Blog...I just want to encourage you. First off...I absolutly KNOW that if I ever encountered you in "real life" I would want to be your friend. From the little I have read on your blog I see we have a ton in common. Secondly...I just had my first solo speaking conference. LAST WEEKEND! It was SO fun! I have done retreats for youth, which I am totally comfortable with...but this was a WOMENS conference and THAT made me nervous. For some reason speaking to teenagers is the ultimate comfort zone for me. Honestly, I would SO do it again, it was a great experience! So, with all of that said...

Heavenly Father in Jesus name I ask that you would fill Debra with all wisdom. Father you know the desire of her heart to be able to speak her sessions with out her notes. Help her memorize the material that you have given her. Father I pray that she would ENJOY herself and I thank you that your Word says that you have not given her a spirit of fear but one of love, POWER and a sound mind. Father I thank you that you are going to move mightily in their midst, and display your glory. I ask for your perfect peace to invade Debra as she prepares. Father help her carve out the time she needs with you. Father, speak to her the way that only You can. And fill her cup to overflowing! Let all that comes forth from her be an overflow of your Spirit working in her life. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Thank you girls so much for your encouragement. Teri your words were of much encouragement to me. I am looking forward to reading your blog. Amanda I will try practicing in the shower and so on. My husband memorizes outlines and goes from there but I think I need more.
