Bathing Suit?

This is beginning to be a real fiasco. I cannot find a suit that I love. I like the ones that reside in my bottom drawer. I like some that I have seen in the many stores I have browsed. But it is true love that I am looking for. Does anyone share my feeling?

I decided to cruise the web in search of love and I found some great options. After sharing my fun news with Ernest we decided that I needed to look a little farther. The ones that twinkled my eye cost far more than a pretty penny. Why do these little things cost so much? I found one that could very possibly be the love of my bathing suit life but the tag brought me back to reality. Together it would cost $160! That is more than I paid for my CHI iron. I am just not willing to pay that much.

What are your thoughts on suits? Am I the only woman out there who needs to feel love for her bathing suit?

This would be a great time to stop and comment. I know you come and visit me so stop by and say Hi.

I understand. If we have one we LOVE it makes us forget the bits and pieces we hate about ourselves. I think it's worth it to spend money on a suit - especially in Texas where our summer lasts forever. I think they will be cheaper by the time summer actually gets here.

Oh girl - i am with you and I do understand your "pain". I know it seems like a ton of money, but the mistake i have made too often is buying the ones that are second best and by the ned of the summer I have 3 or 4 second best bathing suits that probabaly add up to the best one in the first place. Making any sense?

But then again - if i was satified and comfortable with my body then I think any suit might do. I look for a miracle in that tiny material. Nothing will do as good as granny panties!!! hee hee

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

OH bathing suit season is upon us and I am NOT happy about it! I have always bought bathing suits under $50 BUT two years ago I spent more than I even care to say .... BUT I LOVE the suit and I have never felt more comfortable in one. So, if I pay more than I would like to admit every few years for a suit then I am happy in them (as happy as you can be that close to naked in public!) and it is worth it.

I say buy what makes you happy b/c you are the one bearing it all out there in the sun and you want to feel comfy.

Good luck!

oh man i definitely get the bathing suit issue. WHY are they so expensive?? my theory is that bathing suits COVER the most attractive parts of our bodies and show the worst - thighs, stomach, etc. haa! oh well. :) i found your site through LPM and i hope you don't mind having a new "friend." :)
love,
erin

ps - i like to think about the "cost per wear." i do this with essentials. if you have to dish out a small fortune for a good pair of jeans or suit, then so be it - because divide the cost per number of times you'll be wearing it! (in my case, a gazillion, hehe.)

I think a good suit is worth the money. Most inexpensive bathing suits are the size of something that would fit my 1 year old. So, I'd rather spend the dough for one that actually covers the parts it should cover! I shudder thinking about bathing suit shopping!

No...I am still on the search. Here in our small town we do not have a huge variety. I am going on line browsing tonight. Scared.

I think it would be worth the money if you are truly in love. But for me, it's the COVER-UP to the bathing suit that I am all about!

Personally, at this moment in my life, I hate ALL bathing suits :) I can't even remember the last time I went swimming...must be over 4 years (2 babies and we are not even going to talk about how many pounds) ago! I would agree with the "cost per wear" statement Erin made. For me, a person that VERY rarely wears a suite, it would not be smart to spend a lot on one. But if you will wear it often, and could probably get even more than one years worth of wearing out of it, it would be worth spending more on one you love and that makes you feel comfortable. (wow that was a long sentence :) ) Good luck on the search!

Makes that "very rarely every wears a suit"...not a suite! lol Queen of typos here ;)

lol, girl anything I get I cover up with shorts or t-shirt anyway, so you know I go cheap. :) Good luck with the search!

I am all about the love! In fact when people ask me "Do you like such and such" if I am not crazy about it I will reply "Well, I don't love it." It HAS to be all about the love!
Speaking of which, I really love reading your blog. You are an incredible communicator! Your pictures are amazing too! When I am ready to buy a new camera I will be asking you for some advise! (Hopefully soon!) Do you use a MAC?
